Rice University’s school colors are blue and white but on November 30, there was a lot of green on campus. Students from McCollum High School sported the traditional green Gamma Sigma Girls t-shirts when they stopped by for a tour. All 43 young ladies got a first-hand look at a top university in our state. They were also able to visit the University of Houston and the Holocaust Museum.
“As a senior, I enjoyed the tour provided and, although it was a learning experience, the bond between the girls progressed even further,” explained Gabrielle Herrera, Gamma Sigma Girls’ Historian.
The Gamma Sigma Girls is a sorority-type, leadership and community service organization formed by the Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas at both Harlandale ISD high schools in 2010.
