New visitor id system coming soon

In the interest of keeping our children safe, Harlandale I.S.D., will be implementing a KeepnTrack Visitor Management System at our schools and satellite offices. The KeepnTrack system enables schools and satellite offices to produce visitor badges, monitor volunteer hours, and electronically check all visitors against registered sexual offender databases. The overall goal of this system is to increase the safety of our schools.

All visitors will be greeted and asked for a government or state issued photo identification card, for example: Driver’s License, Military ID, etc. The designated staff member will scan the visitor’s identification and issue a yellow visitor’s sticker. The identification card will immediately be returned to the visitor. At no time will a visitor’s identification card be kept by a staff member. The visitor’s sticker will have his/her picture, name, date, time of visit and the destination in the school in which he/she is visiting. Visitors should continue to wear the sticker during their entire visit and return it to the office before leaving.

If a visitor does not have a driver’s license or government or state issued ID, he/she can obtain a state ID at any Department of Public Safety (DPS) office for $16. Our nearest one is located at 6502 S. New Braunfels Ave (210) 531-2200. Hours of operation are 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. We plan to begin the visitor management system after spring break. We appreciate your cooperation and patience during the implementation of this new safety system.
