It is the first of its kind, a partnership to bring a school-based health center focused on the healthcare of students conveniently located inside a school district. The University Health System and Harlandale ISD have partnered together to bring this service to the students of HISD and their siblings up to the age of 18.
The new health center will be located at Collier Elementary’s round building and will offer a wide arrange of services to its patients. Some of the services that will be provided are:
· Physical exams/Well Child checkups
· Sports physicals
· Minor acute care (i.e. ear infections, throat infections, asthma, bronchitis)
· Health education on nutrition, disease and injury prevention
· Medication prescriptions as needed
The operating hours of the new facility will be:
Monday – Thursday 7:30 A.M. – 5:30 P.M.
Friday: 7:30 A.M. – 11 A.M.
Same day appointments will be available.
HISD and UHS officials will host the official ribbon cutting ceremony August 15 at 9:30 a.m.
