Cultural Arts Festival set for May 2, 2015

The 39th Annual Cultural Arts Festival will be one of the final celebrations of an historic year. The 2014-2015 academic school year marks the district'S 120th birthday. All the festivities will get begin at 8:30 a.m. with a Descendant's Ceremony at Mission San Jose. It will be followed by the biggest little parade in San Antonio. More than 120 entries, including about 30 floats, will wind down Roosevelt Avenue from Huizar Road to the Harlandale Memorial Stadium where the fair is expected to run until 2:00 p.m.

For the first time this year, carnival rides will be part of the festivities, thanks to donations from Senator Carlos Uresti, University Health System, Jasmine Engineering and Frost Insurance. All rides will be available at no cost. Students from across the district will provide entertainment as they sing dance on the main stage or as part of a choir inside the stadium. Guest will also have the opportunity to purchase signature festival foods, take part in arts and crafts provided by Jerry's Artarama, walk through an art exhibit, and play several games.
