The “BIGGEST little parade in San Antonio” is about a week away and the district, schools, clubs, and organizations are busy preparing. This year’s theme is a “Festival of Traditions” and you are invited to be part of the festivities.
The event begins with a tribute to our past. The Descendants Ceremony will get underway at 8:30 a.m. at Mission San Jose. Simultaneously, floats, walking groups and school bands will be lining up in the staging area around the Mission, getting ready to step off at 9:30 a.m. The parade will wind down Roosevelt Avenue from Huizar to the Harlandale Memorial Stadium. The fair at the stadium will include live music, student performances, choirs, food booths, carnival-style games, a gaming truck, moon bounces, art exhibits, arts & crafts, a car show and free giveaways.
We hope you can join us as we celebrate the culture that makes us Harlandale on September 15. For more information about the day’s events, please click here.
