The Superintendent’s Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) met for the first time this school year on Wednesday, September 26 at Pupil Personnel. Each parent was selected by their school’s principal to be part of the group, sharing good news and/or concerns.
Interim Superintendent Rey Madrigal boasted about the new band halls and field houses at Harlandale and McCollum high schools. Parents followed up by asking what would happen to the old facilities. “The Board of Trustees approved us updating and upgrading them for our spirit groups to use... and sections of each field house will be used as training rooms,” Mr. Madrigal responded. The group also discussed crossing guards, school hours, and traffic.
PAC members will meet with Mr. Madrigal and other top district leaders once a month for lunch.
