The library at the Frank Tejeda Academy will be dedicated to the late Judge Andy Mireles. The public is invited to participate in this special occasion on October 9 at 5:30 p.m. as we celebrate the life, work and memory of Mr. Mireles.
Judge Paul Andrew "Andy" Mireles served as the 73rd Judicial District Court Judge for more than 20 years and is considered the longest-serving judge at the courthouse. He was known for his compassion and tough love attitude when handling cases involving troubled youth, including students from the Harlandale ISD. Oftentimes, he offered them alternatives to normal sentencing so that they may return to the right path in life. Judge Mireles would go above and beyond the call of duty to attend the graduation events of teens that were once in his courtroom just to show them that someone cared. He will be remembered as a committed judge, active community member, and a friend.
