Fall festivals begin

For elementary schools across the Harlandale ISD, fall means one thing: festivals! Collier and Wright held their fall festivals Friday, October 5 and families came out in droves.

You could barely drive down E. Huff because there were so many cars parked on the side of the street. The carnival itself was set up on the parking lot and it was full of food booths, games and people. Kids were taking turns jumping in the moon bounce, playing basketball, dancing by the dj’s booth, and trying to dunk teacher Raul Ochoa. He ended up soaked.

On the other side of I-35, Collier families spread out across the front lawn and watched as their children got pony rides. Afterward, they took part in all the traditional festival fun, including games, moon bounces and munching on different foods.

Halloween was also in the air as many of the kids dressed up in costumes.
