Santa and Mrs. Claus are making some early visits across the Harlandale ISD. On December 14, they surprised administrators and employees at the annual Central Office luncheon. More than 60 people were gathered in the conference room when jolly ol’ Saint Nick and his wife, played by School Board Vice President Zeke and Elizabeth Mendoza, walked through the gingerbread house doors with a Ho, Ho, Ho! Even in a room filled with adults, cheers and laughter erupted.
The fun didn’t end there. Staff members sat, talked, and enjoyed each other’s company while they dined on turkey with all the fixings as well as ham, ribs, and brisket. All that food was prepared by Chef John Stewart and students in the Culinary Arts Program. Nearby by were the sweet treats, including chocolate, carrot and strawberry cakes, pan dulce and a special gingerbread house. Interim Superintendent Rey Madrigal took a few minutes to thank everyone in attendance for their hard work and dedication to the students and staff of the Harlandale ISD.
