The boys’ basketball teams from Harlandale and McCollum high schools faced off February 12 for bragging rights. In their last match up before heading to the playoffs, the Indians were able to stop the Cowboys, 60-39.
The Harlandale’s boys are now looking toward their matchup with Calallen in Tilden Monday, February 18 at 7:00 p.m. McCollum’s varsity team finished its season tied with Kennedy High School for fourth place. They will play Friday, February 15 at 6:30 p.m. at Southside High School to determine who will move on to play Port Lavaca on Tuesday, February 19 in Beeville for the first round of the playoffs.
On February 12, the McCollum varsity girls went up against Victoria East in Floresville for the bi-district title but lost 78-30. Harlandale’s girls fought a hard battle against Gregory East in Pleasanton that same night. They fell 67-57.
