Harlandale High School’s Varsity Boys Track Team was on a roll Saturday but fell just short of winning the Harlandale Relays. The Indians came in behind Lee High School, but had a great showing on the track and in the field.
James Mendoza took first place in the 100 and 200 meter runs and was part of the 800 meter relay second place finish. HHS also dominated the discus competition, taking the top three spots, and the top two in shot put. McCollum High School place eighth overall in the annual track meet that included boys’ and girls’ varsity and junior varsity teams from Alamo Heights, Edison, Lee, Seguin, Southside and Southwest.
On the girl’s side, Harlandale and McCollum high school placed fifth and eighth, respectively. HISD took first, second and third place in discus.
