Parents at Vestal Elementary are taking steps to help enhance the safety of their children. They worked with the school to bring in representative with INDENT-A-KID on March 5. The program provides an identification card to every parent with their child’s height, weight, and hair & eye color along with the parent or guardian’s contact information. The card can be provided to law enforcement, security personnel, friends, family, or any other person who might assist the family in the case of an emergency.
“During a meeting with parents, they were really concerned that they are trying to teach safety to their students, but they were open to seeing what other things were out there and if there was a form they could have,” said Vestal Principal Monica Villarreal.
Parents also received an electronic version of the card.
