It’s time for some football - sort of. The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) hopes to motivate fans for its upcoming season by holding three scrimmages in different parts of the city. The Roadrunner football team will be in full uniform April 6 at Harlandale Memorial Stadium, taking the field in a practice game to kick off their spring practice sessions. Gates open at noon and the game kicks off at 2:00 p.m. Admission is free.
Besides watching the team in action, the community is also invited to tailgate. Nearby there will be several activities to enjoy, including some punt, pass and kick competitions for students in the 8th grade and below. Additionally, look for information tables about UTSA’s athletic scholarship program and season tickets. Be sure to stick around after the scrimmage for an autograph session with the players.
