The Frank Tejeda Academy held its very first Variety Show at the Boggess Center Friday, April 19. More than a dozen students and teachers volunteered to put their students’ talents on display and they did so by reading poetry, singing, playing music, rapping, and dancing. Each student was judged based on their performance and creativity by three judges, including Nick Russo from the 94.1 Nick at Nite Radio Show, HISD Chief of Police Michael Ramirez and Cynthia Galinda, Administrative Assistant at FTA. The winners of the inaugural Variety Show were:

·         1st Place: Christian Garza for his guitar solo;

·         2nd Place: Johnathan Gonzales for his guitar solo; and,

·         3rd Place: Randy Castillo, Billy Rodrigueez and Anthony Vega for their Rap about Life.
