Fiesta is in full swing and celebrations are happening all over San Antonio, including at the Jewel Wietzel Center. The school for students with special needs held its first ever Fiesta Alegre. In true Fiesta spirit, the students enjoyed games, food and music with a special performance by an Elvis impersonator. The entire event was free for the students and their families as a way for the children to practice their social skills.
“The adults are modeling, parents are modeling, and the kids are modeling that this is what we do in social events,” says Doris Figueroa, Principal of the Wietzel Center.
