The weather was bright and sunny as school let out on May 17th, but Rayburn and Gilbert Elementary were not done for the day quite yet. Each were busy setting up for their annual Spring Carnivals.
Gilbert Elementary held its carnival at Mission County Park. Families who showed up got to eat, play and enjoy live performances in and around the pavilion. Children got a kick out of the moon bounces and games like the ring toss and putt-putt.
Rayburn Elementary set up all the fun in its parking lot. Similar to Gilbert, they had games and bouncy castles as well as raspas to cool off. One of the big favorites was the dunking booth. Students lined up to try their luck in dunking teachers Joseph Rodriguez and Michelle Brown, Academic Coordinator Faith Molina, and Principal Dr. Cody Miller.
