Goodbye, McCollum High School. Hello Cornell, Columbia, Duke, Texas A&M Corpus Christi and the University of Texas at Austin. More than 330 students threw their graduation caps in the air June 13 to celebrate the end of their high school story and the beginning of the next chapter.
One by one, each student crossed the stage at the Freeman Coliseum to shake hands with Principal Aracelie Bunsen and accept their diploma from a School Board member. As they walked, an announcer also shared each student’s next goal. Most had plans to attend college, more than a dozen will be entering the Armed Forces and others are going directly to the workforce
