Teachers across the Harlandale ISD will soon get an even bigger bump in their pay checks. At the June 24 special called School Board meeting to adopt a budget, trustees voted for a 4%, instead of the previously approved 3.5%, raise for all teachers plus an increment. That means employees paid on the teachers scale will get a 4% raise from what they currently earn plus an increment of $100 or more depending on their years of employment. The raises will take effect for the 2013-2014 budget year.
Also approved as part of the total budget was a retention stipend of $750 to be made in two payments, one in December 2013 and the other in May 2014.
