The 2013-2014 school year begins Monday, August 26 and Harlandale ISD officials want to remind families that it will strictly enforce the “No shots, No school” policy. Students who have not received their required immunizations by the first day of school will not be allowed to attend class until their shot records are current.
Immunizations are important for good health and state law requires that all students be fully vaccinated against specified diseases prior to the first day of school each year. When a child turns 4-years-old or enters the seventh grade, he or she will automatically be due for additional immunizations.
Immunizations are available through your private physician’s office, the University Health System and Metro Health clinics, and at some pharmacies. For a list of some upcoming immunization events, see the attached document.
