It was standing room only at the Esteban Sosa Parent Education Center’s meeting room on September 12 for HISD’s first parent involvement workshop, “Resolving Homework Issues”. All of the workshops and handouts were presented in English and Spanish and revolved around common homework issues like motivating students to get the work done. Each parent in attendance also received a homework supply box filled with basic school supplies.
Many positive comments were shared by the parents:
· I received very useful information.
· Great presentation! Very informative! Can’t wait to put all the tools provided today to use.
· This workshop was “awesome”!
The workshop had been presented twice before at the school level, on September 10 at the Parent Education Center and September 17 at the Fenley Center.
