The Indians craze has moved from the school into businesses and offices. The Human Resources Department decorated their section of central office and, on November 20, spirit groups from Harlandale High School spent their evening decorating stores and restaurants with all things maroon and gold. Leading the spirited charge was former School Board President Leo Rodriguez.
“My heart has always been here. I organized this just to see the excitement of the people,” he said.
Mr. Rodriguez hopes it continues through Saturday when HHS plays Rio Grande City in the second round of the high school football playoffs. Game time is 3:00 p.m. at the Student Activity Center in Laredo. The entire community is invited to help give athletes a good luck send off. Meet at the Harlandale field house at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 23.
