MHS hosts Noche de Cultura

McCollum HS students came together as family and friends to take part in Noche de Cultura (A Night of Culture) on Oct. 24.

The engaging event was hosted by the McCollum HS Modern Language Department.

“Everyone came to see a traditional Day of the Dead altar constructed by students and staff,” McCollum HS French teacher Richard Power said. “Many brought a picture or object of remembrance of their deceased loved ones as a part of the celebration.”

Those in attendance enjoyed beautiful music played by Harlandale ISD Mariachi, played Day of the Dead themed Loteria and ate traditional Pan de Muerto.

“A great time was had by all,” Power concluded.
