Brave and Tiger cheer teams win big at NCA Nationals

The Harlandale Middle Brave Cheer and Morrill Elementary Tiger Cheer traveled to Dallas to compete in the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) Nationals on Jan. 27-28.

The Morrill Tiger Cheer team, ranging from third to fifth grade students, won their third NCA National title in a row and received the "Best Use of Tumbling" award.

“We are very proud of them because both the athletes and their families have dedicated and worked extremely hard to earn such an award,” Morrill Tiger and Brave Cheer Sponsor Delilah De La Rosa said. “They are three-time NCA National Champions!”

The HMS Brave Cheer team competed in the toughest division of the competition going against 24 teams from different states throughout the country. HMS placed third and also received the "Best Use of Tumbling" award.  Overall, they were the highest ranking Texas team in their division.

“We are beyond excited and proud of these athletes and what they have accomplished,” De la Rosa added. “We would like to thank their families for all their hard work and sacrifices they have made this season.”

Tiger Cheer Members are Kristian Espinoza, Jesanie Guerrero, Brianna Hernandez, Vyolette Partida, Kali Espinoza, Deven DeLuna, Giada Navaira, Isabella Aragon, Mia Crosby, Katelynn Espinoza and Miah Godoy.

Brave Cheer Members who competed were Chelsea Guillen, Shayna Navaira, Adrianna Roijas, Hailey Espinoza, Chloe Esquivel, Destiny Garcez, Avery Green, Zoey King, Hannah Morua, Michelle Salinas, Jesilyn Triana, Daisy Montoya and Elizabeth Rodriguez.
