Harlandale ISD celebrates Texas Public Schools Week
Posted on 03/02/2018

Harlandale ISD joined other school districts across the state to “Celebrate Texas Public Schools” during the week of Feb. 26 – March 2.

This week is dedicated to highlighting the many achievements of Texas public education. School districts and communities shine a spotlight on the profound and engaging learning taking place every day in our public schools and classrooms.

Texas Public Schools Week was established in 1950 by the Masonic Lodges of Texas to recognize contributions made by the state’s free system of education. The week-long celebration showcases the many educational opportunities available to more than 4 million students attending public schools in Texas.

The theme for this year was: “Texas Public Schools: The Clear Choice of Education.”

Special events and open houses took place at all HISD campuses to highlight student work for parents and community members, who were invited to visit the campuses this week.

Visitors came out and got a first-hand look at all the wonderful programs and organizations at our schools, as well as all of the exciting things our students have done this school year.
