Students at Stonewall Flanders Elementary, who maintained a 96 percent of above attendance rate during the first six weeks of school, had the opportunity to participate in a friendly boot camp class on Oct. 9.

The school invited Never Falter Crossfit to host the class and teach students about the importance of physical fitness.

Joy and laughter filled the school’s gym as every student participated in a wide array of physical activities such as throwing medicine balls, jump roping, step-ups and hula hooping.

“The kids are excited,” Stonewall Flanders Elementary Coach Eva Ramos said. “We planned this event as an attendance incentive and to motivate kids to exercise and stay healthy.”

Students had fun learning basic movements that can be done at any age level including squats, pushing and pressing.

“It’s important to start teaching kids at a young age to exercise and create that habit,” Never Falter Crossfit Owner and Instructor Marcos Rodriguez said. “Then, as they grow up, they can continue to exercise, eat healthy and challenge themselves.”

Way to go, Stonewall Flanders!
