Congrats on a great season, HHS Cross Country girls!

The Harlandale High School Girls Cross Country Team brought home the Bronze at the District 26-5A Cross Country Championships held in Seguin, Texas on Oct. 11. Boerne Champion and Kerrville Tivy took the Gold and Silver respectively, and the Lady Indians pushed passed Veterans Memorial, Seguin, Wagner, McCollum, Memorial and Kennedy to finish third.

The team was led by Captain Adela Lerma, who finished 9th at the District Championships in a time of 20:27 for the 5k course, earning an individual spot to the Region 4 Championships. She was closely followed by Danielle Resendiz, a student at the Early College High School, who placed 11th overall with a time of 20:40. Karyme Rosas clocked a 22:26 and was our third runner to cross the finish line in the 24th spot.

The team’s third place finish, earned the Lady Indians a trip to the Region 4 Cross Country Championships held in Corpus Christi, Texas on Oct. 22. Competing against the top teams from Austin to Brownsville, the Lady Indians finished 24th overall. Adela Lerma led the team clocking an 18:37 on the course and finishing 37th among the 176 runners.
