Harlandale ISD inducts five new members into Hall of Fame

Nearly 200 friends and family members gathered at McCollum High School to witness five new members get inducted into the Harlandale ISD Hall of Fame on Nov. 7.

The Hall of Fame banquet honored Harlandale HS alumni Javier “Jay” Mora and Antonio “Tony” Soto Jr., McCollum HS alumni Jacob Garcia and Terry Raley, as well as community service inductee Esequiel “Zeke” Mendoza.

The night featured a special performance by McCollum HS mariachi students, followed by a dinner catered by Olive Garden.

Superintendent Rey Madrigal, Board of Trustees President Juan Mancha and Hall of Fame Board members Bill Barret, Ruben Tejeda and Josie Scales delivered a special message and congratulated the honorees before the awards presentation.

Each honoree was introduced via a special video produced by the McCollum High School Cowboy Productions team. After the presentation, each inductee proudly accepted their award, thanked their mentors, families and friends and spoke about their time at Harlandale ISD.

The inductees will also be honored during a pregame ceremony at 6:30 p.m. prior to Frontier Bowl at Harlandale Memorial Stadium.

Founded in 1985, the Harlandale ISD Hall of Fame has honored over 200 outstanding alumni who have made great contributions to society and have accomplished notable personal and professional goals.

Congratulations to all the inductees!
