Harlandale ISD students witness 2018 NCAA Final Four logo unveiling

Preparations for the 2018 NCAA Final Four are officially underway and Harlandale ISD students got a first glance at the logo.

The unveiling took place at Mission Concepcion before 1,100 Harlandale ISD and San Antonio ISD elementary students in San Antonio Sports’ afterschool program I Play!

Former Spurs player Sean Elliot and other local dignitaries were also on hand to witness the unveiling.

The men’s Final Four has not been held in San Antonio since 2008 and is slated for March 31, 2018 and April 2, 2018 at the Alamodome.

Prior to the unveiling, San Antonio Sports President and CEO Russ Bookbinder announced that I Play! will add basketball to their curriculum as a legacy of the 2018 Final Four. Currently, the students participate in soccer, track, volleyball and tennis.

Elliot told the students that he started playing basketball in an afterschool program and urged them to take advantage of the opportunity.

Each student walked out with a smile on their face donning T-shirts featuring the new logo.
