McCollum earns basketball win over Harlandale

The McCollum Cowboys Boys Varsity Basketball Team took the win 58-56 over the Harlandale Indians Friday evening in front of a packed Smith Gym at McCollum High School.

The longtime rivalry matchup did not disappoint, as the two teams displayed high energy, competitiveness and terrific team effort.

Family, friends, administrators, teachers and coaches filled the gym with excitement as they cheered for their favorite team!

“Our guys are extremely pleased with the victory. It was definitely a McCollum - Harlandale game for the ages,” McCollum HS Head Boys Basketball Coach Marcus Alvarado said. “Both teams played extremely hard. Our hats off to the Indians. It was an extremely competitive game. Our team took charges, got rebounds and steals, hit tough shots, made clutch free throws, and played with so much pride.  We could not be more proud.”

The Cowboys’ next home game will be against Memorial Minutemen at McCollum’s Dennis Smith Gym on Feb. 5 at 6:30 p.m.

Good luck, Cowboys!
