I am the monolingual RtI interventionist.  RtI is Response to Intervention.  This is a program created to fill in the academic gaps some  students encounter that causes them to perform below grade level in reading and math.  With interventions, most children reach grade level expectations.   In the RtI classroom, I offer help to fill the gaps so that students might meet those expectations.

I became the RtI interventionist in 2015 after teaching at Gillette for 15 years.  I taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade self-contained and 4th grade ELAR when the school departmentalized.   In the past, I taught from elementary to high school grades in San Antonio, other countries,  and other states.  For many years, Gillette has been my second home.  I love working with the children in this school community.
