Dr. Angel Elizondo Garza

Born in Monterrey, Mexico, Dr. Elizondo Garza is in his second year as Assistant Band Director at Terrell Wells Middle School. Previous to that, Dr. Elizondo Garza served as Assistant Band Director at Brackenridge High School & as a private instructor in Texas & Michigan. Dr. Elizondo's students have gone on to earn top spots at regional, state & international competitions. Alumni have also earned spots in some of today's most competitive music schools/conservatories, including University of North Texas, University of Texas, the University of Michigan and Northwestern University.

Dr. Elizondo Garza earned his Doctorate in Musical Arts at the University of Michigan, where he held the prestigious Rackham Merit Fellowship. Under the tutelage of tuba artist & pedagogue Fritz Kaenzig, Dr. Elizondo earned a Masters of Music from the University of Michigan, as well as a Bachelor of Music Education from Baylor University, where he studied under tuba soloist Dr. Kent Eshelman. He has most recently appeared in concert with the Ann Arbor Symphony and as a soloist throughout the United States, Korea & Japan.

Dr. Elizondo Garza is also an alumni of San Antonio's Crossmen Drum & Bugle Corps as well as the 10-time World Champion The Cadets Drum & Bugle Corps.
