
Ricardo Moreno
President, District 7
Ricardo Moreno is a proud Harlandale High School graduate and long-time resident of the southside of San Antonio. As a first-generation college graduate, he earned his degree in Political Science–Public Administration from Texas State University in San Marcos. Driven by a strong belief that education is the great equalizer, Mr. Moreno pursued a career in public education shortly after graduation.
He completed an alternative teacher certification program while simultaneously earning a master’s degree in Special Education from Texas A&M University–San Antonio. He later earned his principal certification from TAMU-SA and is currently working toward his superintendent certification from the same institution.
Mr. Moreno spent eight years as a middle school history teacher before moving into campus leadership, where he served as a middle school assistant principal in a neighboring school district the last five years.
He has proudly served on the Harlandale ISD Board of Trustees since first being elected in May 2015. During his tenure, he has held several leadership roles, including Board Secretary and Vice President. He currently serves as Board President.
In his free time, Mr. Moreno enjoys watching sports, traveling and spending time with his wife, Daniella, and their daughter, Davina.
