Adams Elementary third grader Andru Mendoza has been named a 2026 National Math Star, placing him among just 125 students selected nationwide for the highly competitive program.
The National Math Stars program identifies young students demonstrating extraordinary mathematical ability and provides long-term support to help them develop their talents in mathematics, science and technology.
As a National Math Star, Andru will receive 10 years of fully funded support and enrichment, with resources valued at more than $100,000. The program includes advanced math opportunities, mentoring, STEM experiences, family advising and financial support for enrichment opportunities.
For Andru, the recognition is an opportunity to continue developing a talent that has already stood out at a young age.
National Math Stars was created to identify exceptional mathematical talent early and ensure students have access to the resources and opportunities needed to reach their potential. The organization works with students and families throughout their educational journey, helping them explore advanced coursework, STEM experiences and future academic and career pathways.

Andru Mendoza, alumno de tercer grado de la Escuela Primaria Adams, ha sido nombrado "National Math Star" (Estrella Nacional de las Matemáticas) de la promoción 2026, situándose entre los apenas 125 estudiantes seleccionados a nivel nacional para este programa altamente competitivo.
El programa National Math Stars identifica a estudiantes jóvenes que demuestran una capacidad matemática extraordinaria y les brinda apoyo a largo plazo para ayudarles a desarrollar sus talentos en matemáticas, ciencias y tecnología.
