The Harlandale ISD Board of Trustees approved pay raises for the 2025-2026 school year during the Regular School Board Meeting on Monday, June 16. The approved Employee Compensation Plan reflects the District’s continued commitment to supporting and retaining high-quality staff across all campuses and departments. Key highlights of the plan include:
2% general pay increase from the market midpoint for classified, paraprofessional, administrative and central office staff, with adjustments to address equity across classifications
Starting teacher salary raised to $60,000
Up to $76,350 for teachers with 30+ years and TRA eligibility
Salary increases for teachers by experience:
$1,500 for those with 1–2 years
$1,500 for those with 3+ years not eligible for TRA
$2,500 for TRA-eligible teachers with 3–4 years
$5,000 for TRA-eligible teachers with 5+ years
$1,000 master’s degree stipend for eligible teachers and librarians
Employees will continue to receive a $60 supplemental monthly contribution toward health insurance premiums, in addition to the District’s $350 employer contribution
“This compensation plan is a direct investment in the teachers and staff who support our students every single day,” said School Board President Norma Cavazos. “Whether they’re in the classroom, behind the scenes or out on our campuses, we want every employee to know they are valued, and that Harlandale ISD is a place where they can build a future.”
Employees will see their salary adjustments reflected in their September paychecks, or the first paycheck following their official start date.
“We are confident this plan strengthens our ability to attract high-quality educators and retain the dedicated staff already serving our students,” said Harlandale Superintendent Gerardo Soto. “By staying competitive with salaries and expanding opportunities for professional growth, we’re continuing to build a strong, stable team committed to our students’ success.”
