Under Texas House Bill 1481, students may not have cell phones or other electronic devices out or in use during school hours. Our updated Electronic Devices Violation Consequence Matrix outlines what happens if this policy is violated, including progressive consequences for repeated offenses or non-compliance.
Please take a moment to review the matrix below and talk with your child about the expectations. Together, we can help create a focused, distraction-free learning environment.

Adams families, we are so excited to welcome you back to another great year! To help things run smoothly, please look over the procedures for our first day.
We will begin accepting students into the building at 7:15. Please be advised that there will be no supervision for students before this time! You may drop off 2nd-5th grade in the front of the school, and K-1st in the back of the school (Robert E Lee). Siblings may all be dropped off together. PreK drop off will be at the round building beginning at 7:30. The back gate will close at 7:45 when the bell rings, and at that time, all students will need to go around to the front. The drop off lane in the front will close at 7:50. Any students arriving after 7:50 will need to be escorted by a parent into the school.
Please have all school supplies labeled with your child's first and last name. Only drop off items that your child can carry by themselves; if they have heavy or bulky items, bring them to the front office.
All kinder and 1st grade students should have received a lanyard/name tag during Meet the Teacher. If your child does not have one, please put some kind of name tag on them for the first day of school to help us identify students and get them to where they need to be.
For dismissal, all parents/guardians will need to come prepared with your blue pickup placard. These were given out during Meet the Teacher. If you did not receive one or need extras, please come by the office today before 4, or before dismissal on the first day. No child will be dismissed to a parent without one, NO EXCEPTIONS! Be sure to fill out the placard in bold, black marker with your child's first and last name and their homeroom teacher. 3rd-5th grade students will dismiss in the front of the school. K-2nd will dismiss in the back. If you have children in both lower and upper grades, they will all be dismissed in the back. Dismissal is at 3:25. PreK will dismiss at 3:15 from the round building.
ACE will be starting on the first day of school. If your child has been accepted into the ACE program, you should have already received an email regarding their procedures. If you have questions regarding ACE, you may contact them directly at 210-989-4460.
A couple of additional reminders: the safety of our students and staff is our number one priority! Please be sure to use all designated crosswalks when crossing through the drop off lanes. Also, during arrival in the back of the school, be mindful that the parking lot is not a drive through lane. If you are dropping off students, please use the drive through lane directly behind the school, or park in a spot in the parking lot.
Thank you for your help in making sure our first few days set us up for a wonderful new school year!

Attention parents, the state of Texas has issued a new state law limiting the use of cell phones in public schools. Harlandale will be enforcing these laws this school year. Cell phones that ring, are used, or are taken out during the day will be picked up and turned into the front office. The district will not be responsible for damage, theft, or loss of cell phones or electronic items including those confiscated for violation of Board Policy. If a phone is collected by a staff member, it must be picked up after school by a parent. Please be sure to go over these new expectations with your child before starting school.
