Good afternoon Adams Families,
I wanted to provide an important update regarding our upcoming Bike Rodeo.
Our Bike Rodeo was originally scheduled for next Thursday, October 8th. However, Officer Arroyo, who is assisting with our Bike Rodeo, informed me yesterday that SAPD has had to cancel all events scheduled for that day due to unforeseen circumstances. Officer Arroyo sincerely apologized for the change and any inconvenience it may cause.
To keep our Bike Rodeo as close as possible to the original schedule and avoid having to postpone this special event, we will be moving the Bike Rodeo up one day to Wednesday, October 7th.
We understand that changing the date may require families to make adjustments to their schedules, and from the bottom of our hearts, we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this unexpected change may cause. We truly appreciate your patience, understanding, and flexibility.
Our students have been looking forward to this event, and we are excited to still be able to provide them with a fun, safe, and memorable Bike Rodeo experience.

Permission Slips
Permission slips were sent home during the week of September 14th. All permission slips must be returned to the PE coaches no later than Friday, October 2nd for students to participate in the Bike Rodeo.
Bike Drop-Off Information
Students may begin bringing their bikes to the back parking lot starting at 7:00 a.m. A sign-in table will be available for parents and guardians to register their child's bike. The back parking lot will be closed to regular traffic that morning and will only be accessible to families dropping off bikes. All bikes must be dropped off at the back of the school. Bike drop-off and pick-up will not be permitted at the front entrance.
Parent Attendance
Parents and guardians are welcome to attend the Bike Rodeo! If you plan to join us, please make sure to sign in at the table located in the back parking lot near the Bike Rodeo.
Bike Pick-Up
Parents and guardians may sign out their child's bike at the following times:
After the event: Bikes may be picked up in the gym.
Later that afternoon: Bikes may be picked up from 3:50–4:30 p.m. at the back of the school in the gym.
**Please remember to sign out your child's bike when picking it up.**
Special Bike Trick Demonstration
We are excited to welcome Mr. Bobby Burge, who will be showcasing some amazing bike tricks beginning at 8:30 a.m.
If you would like to see his exciting bike demonstration, we encourage you to arrive early, before your son or daughter participates in the Bike Rodeo. You won't want to miss it!

🚗 Morning Drop-Off
Drop-off time is 7:15–7:45 a.m.
--PK: Drop-off will be at the round building beginning at 7:30.
--K–1st Grade: Drop-off will be in the back of the school off Robert E. Lee.
--3rd–5th Grade: Drop-off will be in the front of the school off Southcross.
Parents may walk their child to the designated entrance; however, for the safety of all our students, we ask that you allow a staff member to escort your child inside. Parents will not be permitted to enter the building during morning drop-off. Thank you for helping us keep our students safe!
🎒 Student Name Tags
Please make sure your child's first and last name and grade level are clearly labeled somewhere on their backpack or on a name badge. K–2nd grade students who attended Meet the Teacher were given a lanyard with a name tag. These name tags help ensure that every student gets to the correct classroom safely.
💛 Dismissal & Yellow Placards
For the safety of our students, ALL parents and guardians must have a YELLOW placard to pick up their child beginning on the first day of school. Yellow placards were distributed at Meet the Teacher. If you were unable to attend Meet the Teacher or need additional placards, please come by the school BEFORE dismissal on the first day of school to pick one up. If you do not have a yellow placard at dismissal, you will need to go to the office and show your ID before your child can be released. Please write your child's FIRST and LAST name in BOLD, DARK ink on the placard. This will allow our staff to easily read the name from a distance and help get your child to you as quickly as possible.
If you would like your child to walk home from school, they must have a signed permission slip with their first and last name, grade, and parent information.
🕒 Dismissal Times & Locations
--PK: Dismissal at 3:10 p.m. from the round building.
--K–2nd Grade: Dismissal at 3:25 p.m. from the back of the school off Robert E. Lee.
--3rd–5th Grade: Dismissal at 3:25 p.m. from the front of the school off Southcross.
Families with students in both K–2nd and 3rd–5th grades: You will only need to pick up your children from the back of the school with your younger child. You will not need to visit both dismissal locations. Remember, you will still need a yellow placard for each child.
Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and help as we work together to make the first day of school safe, organized, and successful for everyone. We can't wait to see our students!
Our offices will remain closed for the remainder of the day, and phone calls and in-person assistance will resume when we reopen on Monday, Aug. 10.
