It was a busy day this past Saturday. Several choir students represented hardwork and dedication to giving their best voices to earn a spot during the 2024 Region XI Honor Choir auditions.
After over a five hour audition day and over 300 students auditioning, I (Mrs. Arce) am proud to announce that 4 HMS choir members have made it into the 2024 Region XI Honor Choir and will be representing HMS at the Region XI Clinic/Concert this Saturday at Southwest Legacy High School.
These students have been working on this music since August and put in extra rehearsal time after school. They will be collaborating with fellow honor choir members from other schools to put in a full day of rehearsal on Saturday and then perform a beautiful and professional concert for the community at the Southwest Legacy HS Auditorium. This concert is FREE and I encourage everyone to attend.

Today, we want to take a moment to recognize the incredible impact Coach Hampton has had in our district since 1972! With 20 years at Leal Middle School, 4 years at Harlandale High School, and 6 years at Harlandale Middle School, her dedication to fostering talent and inspiring young athletes is truly remarkable. Even after her retirement in 2002, she continues to give back by substituting in the district, proving that her passion for education and sports knows no bounds.
Coach Hampton, THANK YOU for your years of service, mentorship, and for being a shining example of commitment and excellence. You’ve shaped countless lives, and your legacy will continue to inspire future generations! 🏆❤️

HMS Family! Football and baseball pictures today @ 4-5pm, for our boys athletes Parents are welcomed to come and decorate their kids locker and take pictures with their student athletes on the field.
Did you miss out on the Fine Arts Night. We had an excellent turn out. We are proud of our Fine Arts program. Thank You to Mr. Lavender and Mr. Ybarra for our Band and Jazz Band performances. Thanks to Mr. Delgado for his Mariachi performance. Thanks to Mr. Geer for his theatre improve drama. Thanks to Mrs. Arce for the Choir performance. The students were BRAVE and AWESOME.
