2026 Frontier Bowl

The Indians and Cowboys enter the rivalry matchup with strong district records, a season full of recognition and plenty on the line next  Friday night.

The Southside is getting ready for one of its biggest nights of the football season as the Harlandale Indians and McCollum Cowboys prepare to meet in the 63rd Frontier Bowl on Friday, November 6, at 7 p.m. at Harlandale ISD Memorial Stadium.

This year’s matchup carries extra weight. Both teams have put together strong district campaigns, and with the rivalry renewed under the Friday night lights, the game could have major implications for the district race. For players, coaches, students and alumni, it’s also a chance to represent their schools and settle a year’s worth of bragging rights on the field.

A Season Worth Celebrating

Both programs have given Harlandale ISD plenty to celebrate this season, earning recognition for their performances on the field.

The Harlandale Indians have only dropped one game in district play while building momentum through a series of impressive performances. Following their 49-7 victory over Jefferson, the Indians were named a football Team of the Week. Harlandale standout Armando Munoz also earned KENS 5’s Play of the Week for his 91-yard kickoff return in that game. The team’s strong play earned the Indians a spot in the San Antonio Express-News football power rankings for the first time this season. https://www.harlandale.net/article/3189492

The McCollum Cowboys have had their own standout moments and so far are undefeated in district. The team was named the Texas Sports Productions and Raul B. Rodriguez Law, P.C. Football Team of the Week following an impressive district victory. Head Coach Wilkinson and linebacker/running back Justin Barrientos were featured in an interview discussing the team's performance and goals for the rest of district play. Barrientos also earned KENS 5 and Great Day SA All-Star Athlete recognition. https://www.harlandale.net/article/3188672"

These accomplishments reflect the hard work of both teams, their coaching staffs and the school communities supporting them throughout the season.
