BiblioTech Public Library is once again offering free SAT prep courses this Spring! Following the success of last fall’s sessions, where students saw score improvements of up to 22%, we're excited to continue helping students reach their academic goals.

This year we are celebrating the United Nations International Day of Women and Girls in Science (IDWGIS). The Girls Inc. of San Antonio’s RockIT into the Future Science Festival celebrates IDWGIS by:

From construction paper mosaics to painted tiles or even photography, encourage your child to take part in the contest and their artwork could be featured on this year's Cultural Arts program!

Uh oh! We did some spying on our 5th grade teachers during indoor recess. This is what they do...read (The History of Adams Elementary), organize their desks (how does she organize so many paper clips?!), make phone calls (reception may not be good), print science material (look at her planning ahead), online Christmas shopping (going to forward my Amazon wish list), and take a much needed nap (dreaming of snowy days in the forecast). This is NOT what they really do and no students were harmed while taking these photos.
Make sure that you stay warm this weekend! Remember, Monday is a holiday. As of now, we are scheduled to return to school on Tuesday. Students may wear pajamas, or warm sweats, and please remember to make sure they have jackets!
Attention parents, our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will be taking campus benchmark tests over the next two days (Jan. 15-16). This testing is really helpful for our students to understand and get to practice the procedures for the STAAR testing coming up in April. Also, the scores help our teachers know which topics they still need to cover in more depth. It is very important that they are here both days, on time. Please make sure that you are not checking them out early, as they do have all day to complete the testing. Thank you for your help in making sure our students are successful!
Another day of fun here at Adams! Our AP, Mrs. Lopez, was asked to join a few students for lunch, and our counselor, Ms. Penn, shared a story with another group of kids. Plus, all of our 5th grade students received a visit from some of the middle school elective teachers to talk about some of the awesome classes they can sign up for next year.
