We have wonderful news Harlandale Family! This week, the Texas Education Agency approved a special waiver for Harlandale ISD that made 12 long-term substitutes eligible to become official Harlandale ISD teachers!
As part of the TEA Waiver, the long-term substitutes who have degrees, were hired as teachers at Harlandale ISD as they work toward completing an alternative certification program.
"We are grateful to the TEA for approving these waivers and are excited to take advantage of this opportunity to hire more qualified teachers for our students," said Harlandale ISD Superintendent Mr. Gerardo Soto. "These waivers will give us the flexibility we need to fill vacant teaching positions and ensure that our students have access to the high-quality instruction they deserve."
