Fresh art has taken root at our Harlandale ISD Schulze Elementary.
New metal sculptures now welcome students and staff in the garden, designed and built from scratch by welding students from our Carroll Bell CTE Center. The pieces were cut, welded and painted by Marisella Loera, Nallely Lopez, Rogelio Alvarado, Diego Alvarez and Isaiah Guerrero under the guidance of their teacher, Mr. Mauricio De La Torre.
This is a great example of how our schools are finding creative ways to showcase the skills and abilities students in our district are learning.

Texas A&M’s Enrollment Management Department recently visited our Harlandale ISD Wright Elementary as part of their annual Adopt-A-Classroom program.
This year, 5th grade teacher Yesenia Villarreal’s class was selected and was recognized with surprise gifts, snacks and festive activities like coloring and decorating their own ornaments.

Thank you to everyone who helped make our December Mobile Food Pantry a success!
Together with San Antonio Food Bank, we distributed more than 33,000 pounds of food, including fresh produce, and served 368 families across our community.
A special shout out to our students along with our dedicated community volunteers who made it all happen. We’re grateful to continue supporting our families and strengthening our community one pantry at a time.

Join us in con congratulating Octavia Orta and Nader Vasheghani, students in Mr. Daniel Peña’s cybersecurity classes, who earned first and second place in the Cyber Threat Defender Custom Card Design Challenge hosted by UTSA’s Center for Infrastructure Assurance and Security.
The competition challenged students to design original cybersecurity cards evaluated by industry professionals on technical accuracy, creativity and how well the card functions within the game.
As top finishers, their designs will be added to the Cyber Threat Defender digital platform, and they received national recognition along with game materials and booster packs.
This is truly a reminder of the real-world learning happening in Harlandale ISD classrooms.

A special welcome awaited travelers at the San Antonio Airport as jazz bands from Harlandale ISD's McCollum High School, Kingsborough and Terrell Wells Middle Schools recently performed Christmas music in the arrivals area.
The joyful live sounds offered travelers a moment of relaxation and smiles after hours of travel.

Thank you to Walmart for sponsoring the Harlandale ISD Police Department’s "Shop with a Cop" shopping spree once more this year. Students enjoyed a memorable day selecting special items and spending time with our police officers.
They even received a surprise visit from Buddy the Elf, who brought cupcakes and donuts for all to enjoy while shopping!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Harlandale ISD Mariachi Festival at McCollum High School. Students from across our elementary, middle and high schools filled the day with incredible performances, showcasing the talent, pride and tradition of our mariachi programs.
Families enjoyed great music, food and time together as we celebrated our students and the rich cultural roots that make Harlandale ISD so special. We’re grateful for our musicians, directors, staff and community for making this event such a success and we can’t wait to do it again next year!
