On Friday we had McGruff the Crime Dog visit our K-3rd graders to kick off Red Ribbon Week!

Remember, you can pick up your presale carnival tickets now! The office will be selling tickets from 8-10am. Cash only!
In preparation for the carnival, the front entry will be blocked off today at 4pm. Please make sure that all students are picked up this afternoon by 3:50pm. All ACE students must be picked up in the back of the school.
It's finally here! Join us this afternoon in the Adams parking lot for our annual school carnival! Games, food, prizes, and a whole lot of fun! The event will run from 4:30-7pm. See you there!

We will have presale tickets available for the carnival tomorrow morning from 8-10am! Tickets are $1 each. Most items will range between 1-3 tickets. Stop by the office tomorrow morning to avoid the lines when the carnival starts!
We are still accepting carnival donations through tomorrow morning! If you have not yet been able to bring anything in, we would appreciate you making plans to donate this afternoon or tomorrow morning!

October is Bullying Prevention Month. A few of our local organizations are hosting a free livestream event featuring Upstander, a Bullying Prevention film from Impactful, on Oct. 29 at 6pm. Along with understanding aspects of bullying and bullying prevention, the film follows a local family's tragedy of bullying and the death by suicide of their youngest son. This can be an emotional film and is intended for adults and youth 12 and over. The film is almost an hour long and a panel will provide comments after the film.
Registration is required and the link and QR code are on the flyer.
Again, please note that this film may not be suited for children under 12, please use your discretion when deciding if this is right for your family.
Today we had our monthly coffee with the principal meeting. Every month this is a chance for our parents to spend time learning about local community organizations and/or other resources that can help your child succeed. This month, Mrs. Holtermann invited Sandra Godoy from Maximus Healthcare Chip and Medicaid to come by and present. Next month we will be presenting a math make and take activity for you to use with kids of all ages. More information on this and other upcoming events will be posted soon.

Budding Architects - In the ART ROOM, Kindergarten students worked in groups to create buildings out of different kinds of blocks and then create a "blueprint" for the builders. This activity requires the students to share ideas and materials. It was amazing what they created and the many different ways they came up with to use the blocks.
Kindergarteners are exploring all the different kinds of Art Jobs and Careers available to accomplish. So far, we have explored illustrator and now, architect.

A Harlandale High School alum founded a nonprofit called Flamingo Club, which offers a handful of students golf equipment and course access every year.
There are only 10 openings left for the fall 2024 cohort. Apply for the scholarship here!
